Jean-Paul Betbèze

Jean-Paul Betbèze is Chief Economist and Head of the Economic Research department at Crédit Agricole S.A. Prior to this appointment, he served as special advisor to Crédit Agricole's chairman and CEO. From 1990 to 2003, he was head of economic and financial research at Crédit Lyonnais; he also served there as head of strategy from 1995 until 2001. Betbèze began his career in higher education and is a professor at the Université Panthéon-Assas Paris II. He is a member of the French prime minister's Economic Analysis Council, the Circle of Economists and of the International Conference of Commercial Bank Economists. The author of several books, he graduated from the HEC School of Management (École des Hautes Études Commerciales) in Paris and received a Ph.D. in economics.
