Jonathan Bloch
Senior Managing Director and Managing Partner, GKM Newport; Managing Partner, GKM Ventures
Jonathan Bloch is Senior Managing Director and Managing Partner of GKM Newport, a private equity group that he co-founded in 2001. He is also Managing Partner of GKM Ventures. Bloch leads investments in expansion-stage technology companies located in the western United States with a focus on clean tech, communications, enterprise software and IT services, and digital media. He previously was managing director of the Technology Group at Chanin Capital Partners, where he specialized in corporate finance and principal investing. He led various early-stage and pre-IPO technology-related investments, including Software.com, now Openwave Systems. Bloch is a former partner in the law firm of Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman, Kuchel & Silbert. He is on the advisory boards of several venture funds, and serves as a director for OnPath Technologies, Syntricity, Advanced Data Exchange, Oxford Semiconductor and the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles; he is also on the board of governors of Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Bloch received a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law.
