Brian Jenkins
Senior Adviser, RAND Corporation; Terrorism Expert
Brian Jenkins is Senior Adviser to the president of the RAND Corporation and a world authority on terrorism. He founded RAND's terrorism research program and served as an advisor to the federal government and the private sector. He is a former Army captain who served with the Special Forces in the Dominican Republic and Vietnam. In 1996, Jenkins was appointed by President Clinton to be a member of the White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security. He also served as an advisor to the National Commission on Terrorism and in 2000 was appointed a member of the U.S. Comptroller General's Advisory Board. He serves as special advisor to the International Chamber of Commerce and a member of the board of directors of its Commercial Crime Services. He authored Unconquerable Nation: Knowing Our Enemy, Strengthening Ourselves and International Terrorism: A New Mode of Conflict; edited and co-authored Terrorism and Personal Protection; co-edited and co-authored Aviation Terrorism and Security; and co-authored The Fall of South Vietnam. His latest book, Will Terrorists Go Nuclear? will be published this year.
