Silviu Moraru is Manager of Technology and Competitive Intelligence for the Wireless Terminals Division of Samsung Telecommunications America. As principal analyst of the cellular industry market dynamics, he works closely with engineering groups and business entities within the company in crafting the strategy and product planning for development of handsets that are intuitive and easy to use, and which leverage the most advanced networks and service offerings from the carriers across all available technologies. He previously held engineering and management positions at Sony Ericsson, NEC and Motorola. Moraru has researched and was an active participant in the steering and standard committees that helped bring to life many of today's technologies, such as Bluetooth and Location Based services. In addition, he was responsible for designing the platform architectures deployed in numerous successful products already in the market and has filed two patents. Moraru received his bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a graduate of the executive MBA program at the Southern Methodist University Cox school of business.
