Edward Guiliano
President, New York Institute of Technology
Edward Guiliano is President of the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), which offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees to approximately 14,000 students through eight academic schools. He is credited with leading the transformation of NYIT from a local college into a regional institution with a recognizable national, global and digital brand consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top-tier regional university. Under Guiliano, NYIT has recruited seasoned administrators and world-class deans, attracted outstanding students from all 50 states and more than 97 countries, and expanded NYIT's international presence to Canada, China and the Middle East. NYIT is staking new ground in online education, as well. In 2003, NYIT entered into an alliance with Cardean Learning Group to create Ellis College of NYIT, an online school specifically designed to meet the educational needs of adult students. Guiliano is the author and editor of eight books and more than 150 articles, essays, presentations and reviews. He earned a bachelor's degree at Brown University and a Ph.D. at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
