J.A. Johnson is Chairman of Global Communications Inc. In 2006 he launched the company as a complete technology solution for a new generation of Internet access, interactive programming, security services and multiple-party videoconferencing. Johnson is also managing director of A.Q. The Firm, a high-tech interactive data-services consulting firm that serves such clients as Motorola, Karl Storz of Germany, the Organization of American States and the Council of Central American Presidents across multiple political and technological industries. From 1998 to 2000, Johnson was senior vice president of Intervest Strategies Corp., responsible for shareholder relations with publicly traded Fortune 500 companies, such as General Electric, AT&T and Sony. From 1993 to 1996, he was president and CEO of Global Communications (an early iteration of the current Global Communications) and responsible for the commercialization and development of communication technologies in use by the U.S. Information Agency, including the broadcast of its World Space Global Satellite Television Network, operated in U.S. embassies worldwide.
