David Jackson is CEO of Istithmar. In this capacity, he has overall responsibility for business initiated by Istithmar across its three divisions: investment, finance and administration, and funding. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Jackson served as the first chief investment officer, leading the creation of the firm's initial portfolio of approximately $2 billion and the implementation of the policies and procedures that provide Istithmas with its platform today. Before joining Istithmar, Jackson spent more than 10 years on Wall Street, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, and working with financial sponsors in leveraged-buyout transactions. He was an associate, vice president and senior vice president at Lehman Brothers in New York and Hong Kong between 1993 and 2001. He was also a partner at Marco Polo Partners in New York. Jackson is on the board of directors of Istithmar PJSC, Dubai World LLC, Ports & Free Zone World LLC and several of Istithmar's portfolio companies, including Retailcorp LLC, Emirates National Securitization Corporation, Bank Muscat International and Loehmann′s Holdings. He received a bachelor's degree in economics from Princeton University and an MBA from Yale University.
