Douglas Kane is President of Risk Control Strategies, a national threat management and risk assessment firm specializing in security assessments, crisis management and risk avoidance. Kane was a 27-year veteran of the FBI before he joined the firm, having supervised and resolved numerous kidnapping and hostage situations and responsible for myriad special events ensuring adequate security procedures based upon threat levels. He was selected to the FBI Hostage Rescue Team, the only full-time civilian counterterrorism team in the world, and ultimately became team leader. He served as the agent in charge of the crisis management program and the FBI Rapid Deployment Team based in Los Angeles from 1993 until 2001. His professional affiliations include membership in the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, FBI Agents Association, National Association of Chiefs of Police, Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and the American Society for Industrial Security. Kane received a bachelor's degree from Baldwin Wallace College and a master's degree from Southern Illinois University.
