David Ruder is a Venture Partner for Altitude Capital Partners, a private investment firm focused on investing in companies with compelling intellectual property portfolios. Ruder's focus is on later-stage or expansion funding for companies backed by traditional venture capital or private equity firms. He is a co-founder of River West Brands LLC, where he pioneered a method for acquiring and licensing dormant consumer-brand intellectual property. He completed brand acquisition and licensing deals with several Fortune 500 companies in the consumer sector. Ruder is also a co-founder of Adaptive Alpha LLC, a research company focused on developing intellectual property relating to skill and risk in the asset-management industry. Ruder began his career as an investment banker on Wall Street and practiced intellectual property law with a major national law firm. He received a bachelor's degree from Williams College; both his J.D. and MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
