David Heber
Professor, Medicine and Public Health; Founding Director, Center for Human Nutrition
David Heber is Professor of Medicine and Public Health, and Founding Director of the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition, he is the founding chief of the Division of Clinical Nutrition in the Department of Medicine at the university. Heber is board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology and metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and in clinical nutrition by the American Board of Nutrition. He is the current chair of the Medical Council of the American Society for Nutrition. He has written more than 160 peer-reviewed scientific articles and was included in the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006 listings of The Best Doctors in America, based on a survey of 35,000 doctors. He has been listed in Who′s Who in America since 2001. He is the author of two best-selling books, What Color Is Your Diet? and The L.A. Shape Diet. Heber received an M.D. at Harvard Medical School and a Ph.D. in physiology at UCLA.
