Neil Eckert
Chairman, European Climate Exchange
Neil Eckert is Chairman of the European Climate Exchange, the leading provider of exchange-based carbon-emissions trading products, and a founder-director of Climate Exchange Plc. Eckert is also a founder-director of Brit Insurance Holdings Plc, the largest quoted U.K.-owned insurance company in the London insurance market, with a market capitalization of £820.69 million. After becoming a Lloyd's reinsurance broker, Eckert joined the Benfield Group, an independent, London-based reinsurance and risk intermediary, and was a director of the firm for nine years. He is non-executive chairman of Design Technology and Innovation Ltd., a patenting and intellectual-property company, and a director of Ri3K, an Internet hub for reinsurance. He is also a founder-director of the Chicago Environmental Fund.
