Torstein Hagen is Chairman and CEO of Viking River Cruises Inc.(VRC), based in Switzerland and Los Angeles. Since its inception in 1997, the company has become the world's leading river cruise line, operating a fleet of 25 deluxe vessels on the waterways of Europe, Russia, Ukraine and China. Hagen has extensive experience in the shipping and cruise industry; he was CEO of Royal Viking Line and has served on the boards of Holland America Line and Kloster Cruise Ltd. Through VRC's parent company, Luxembourg-based Marine Investments, he has pursued investments in the maritime sector and in Russia. He was formerly a partner of the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Europe. Hagen earned a degree in physics at the Norwegian Institute of Technology and an MBA at Harvard University.
