Nathan Nankivell

Nathan Nankivell is the Senior Researcher for the Office of the Special Advisor at Joint Task Force Pacific Headquarters (JTFP), Canada. He has been employed with Canada's Department of National Defence since 2001 and works largely on Asia-Pacific traditional and nontraditional security issues. His work has been published in the Cambridge Review of International Affairs, the Jamestown Foundation’s China Brief, the Australian Military Journal and the Canadian Consortium on Asia Pacific Security. His current work involves looking at the conceptual transformation of maritime piracy into "piratico-terrorism" in the post-9/11 era. Additionally, he is one of the principle authors of JTFP's Asia-Pacific Intelligence Briefs, a daily open-source news service sent to military personnel, politicians, academics, and NGOs throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
