Daniel Perry
Executive Director, Alliance for Aging Research
Daniel Perry is Executive Director of Alliance for Aging Research, the nation's leading citizen advocacy organization for promoting medical and behavioral research to improve the health and independence of older Americans. His background covers health policy and governmental, political and journalistic experience. He held staff positions for more than a dozen years on Capitol Hill, including special assistant to the majority whip of the U.S. Senate. He was appointed to the Federal Task Force on Aging Research and was an advisor to the White House Conference on Aging. As part of the influential Jackson Hole Group on health-care issues, Perry established the groundwork for the Foundation for Accountability, or FACCT. He currently serves as chairman of the FACCT board of directors. Perry was selected to represent consumer interests on the first governing body of the American Medical Accreditation Program, assessing credentials and performance of U.S. physicians. He is a director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Immunology and Geriatric Medicine in Washington, D.C., and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences.
