Boone Pickens, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, founded Mesa Petroleum Co. in 1956. He has given more than $100 million to Oklahoma State, $10 million to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and $6 million to the American Red Cross, as well as contributions to the Wilmer Eye Institute at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Scottish Rite Children′s Hospital and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. His updated autobiography, Boone, was a New York Times best seller.
