Neil Budde is Director of News for Yahoo! Inc. Budde joined Yahoo! in November 2004 to oversee Yahoo!′s news initiatives, including the operations of Yahoo! News, and ensure that Yahoo! delivers timely and comprehensive news offerings. Prior to joining Yahoo!, Budde spent more than 25 years working for newspapers and online publishers. As the founding editor and publisher of The Wall Street Journal Online, the largest paid news site on the Internet, Budde directed the design, development and evolution of the product from the inception of WSJ.com. Prior to his appointment as founding editor of the online Journal, Budde was deputy editorial director for Dow Jones News/Retrieval, where he oversaw design and development of new information services. Budde′s career began with a decade of experience as an editor and reporter at The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky., USA Today and The Richmond Times-Dispatch. In 2002, he was named one of four finalists for the World Technology Awards in the category of Media and Journalism. In 1998, he was named Business Journalist of the Year by TJFR, a newsletter covering business journalism. Budde earned his bachelor's in journalism at Western Kentucky University and his MBA at the University of Louisville.
