Morgan Chu is a Partner of Irell & Manella LLP. He joined Irell & Manella as an associate in 1977 and became a partner in 1982. Chu has been an adjunct professor of law at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law and has served as a judge pro tem. He is also a member of the Judiciary Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He has received many accolades and awards, including the Significant Achievement Award for Excellence and Innovation in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Center for Public Resources. The National Law Journal has named him one of the "Top 10 Trial Lawyers" in the nation and he has been named one of the "100 Most Influential Lawyers in America" by the National Law Journal every year since its 1994 survey. Chu was named the top Super Lawyer in Southern California based on a poll of 65,000 lawyers by LA Magazine in 2004. A 2001 survey of company directors, law school deans, and lawyers by Corporate Board Member named him the Best Intellectual Property Lawyer in the nation. Chu earned his Ph.D. at the University of California at Los Angeles and his J.D. at Harvard Law School.
