George Kieffer is a Partner with Manatt, Phelps, Phillips, a member of the firm′s board of directors and co-chair of its Government Division. Kieffer is an expert in municipal and administrative law. He has successfully chaired the commission charged with re-writing the Los Angeles City Charter, chaired the Mayor′s Los Angeles Economic Impact Task Force and in 2000 was named by the San Francisco Daily Journal and the Los Angeles Daily Journal as one of the 100 most influential attorneys in California. Kieffer recently served as a member of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger′s Transition Committee and is the current chair of the board of directors of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. He is the author of The Strategy of Meetings and contributing author of Governing Public Colleges & Universities. Kieffer earned his J.D. at the University of California at Los Angeles.
