Ram Gupta is Executive Vice President at PeopleSoft responsible for the company's new generation of Internet applications and the technology infrastructure. As second-in-command, his job responsibilities include product strategy, product marketing, product development and product support worldwide. He leads PeopleSoft's CRM, SCM, Financials, Human Capital Management and Application Infrastructure product divisions and manages a worldwide team of more than 2500 people. He is also responsible for Peoplesoft's merger and acquisitions activities. Gupta brings more than 17 years of software management experience to PeopleSoft. Most recently, he was senior vice president and general manager for Healtheon|WebMD Corp. Before working at Healtheon|WebMD, Gupta was the director of the Multimedia Networking Healtheon|Group at Silicon Graphics. He has also managed operating systems development at IBM and networking products development at Ungermann Bass and at Philips in Europe. He holds several patents in the U.S. Gupta earned his master's degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts.
