Nancy Pfund is a Managing Director at JPMorgan H&Q where she is co-head of JPMorgan′s Bay Area Equity Fund, a private equity fund aimed at investing in emerging growth companies. Pfund has sponsored numerous private equity investments and currently sits on the boards of directors of a number of private companies, including SERA Learning Technologies and VisionRx. Pfund joined JPMorgan H&Q in 1984 as a securities analyst and later joined its venture capital department as principal. For five years, Pfund also built and directed JPMorgan H&Q′s external affairs and philanthropic programs. In 1988, President Bush appointed Pfund as a charter member of the National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology. In 1999, Pfund was appointed by President Clinton to serve on the Congressional Web-Based Education Commission. Pfund is a founding officer of ABC2, a foundation aimed at accelerating a cure for brain cancer. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Technology Network (TechNet), the Advisory Board of the JPMorgan Chase Community Development Corporation and the Yale University School of Management International Center for Finance, among others. Pfund earned her MBA at the Yale School of Management.
