Peter Grauer is Chairman of Bloomberg L.P., a global financial media company founded in 1981. He has been a member of the Bloomberg board since October 1996 and was named chairman in March 2001. Prior to this, Grauer was a managing director of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette until its acquisition by Credit Suisse First Boston in 2000. He then served as a managing director and senior partner of CSFB Private Equity until March 2002. Grauer is a founder of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners and DLJ Investment Partners, which today collectively manage over $12 billion of private equity funds. Grauer′s civic and charitable service includes Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Big Apple Circus, a not-for-profit performing arts and community outreach organization and member of the executive council of the Inner City Scholarship Fund in New York City. Grauer earned his degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business, Program for Management Development.
