Bruce Karatz is chairman and CEO of Kaufman & Broad Home Corporation. He joined the company in 1972, and named chief executive officer in 1985 and chairman in 1993. In 1992, Karatz was inducted into the California Building Industry Hall of Fame and in 1999 he received the Chevalier of the Legion of Honor from the French government. Among his many civic and cultural commitments, Karatz served as co-chairman of the Mayor′s Alliance for a Safer L.A., is a board member of The Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles and a Trustee of the RAND Corporation. He is a director of Honeywell International Inc., The Kroger Co., National Golf Properties, Inc. and Kaufman & Broad S.A. the Company′s publicly-held French subsidiary. Karatz is also a member of the Los Angeles Business Advisors, Chairman of the California Business Roundtable, member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Chairman of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council and member of the Board of Councilors of the USC Law Center. A graduate of Boston University, Karatz earned his law degree from the University of Southern California.
