Tom Wright is Senior Vice President Americas of Cathay Pacific Airways, where he is responsible for all of Cathay Pacific′s operations in the United States and Canada. Born in Kenya, Wright was commissioned into the British Army′s Royal Green Jackets for eight years where he served in Cyprus and Oman as well as the United Kingdom. He joined John Swire & Sons in 1986 and went from there to Cathay Pacific. Since then he has been Assistant to General Staff Manager, Country Manager Italy, Country Manager Korea, and Manager Airline Planning. In 1995, Wright was appointed General Manager Personnel, where he was responsible for all personnel and human resources matters within the airline, and in 1997 he became General Manager Inflight Services, responsible for overseeing all of Cathay Pacific′s cabin crew. Wright earned his degree in the arts at Durham University.
