Speaker's Biography:
George Diehr
Vice President, CalPERS Board of Administration
George Diehr is Vice President of the CalPERS Board of Administration. First elected in 2002, Diehr is in his second term on the CalPERS board, the nation's largest public pension fund. He also serves as Chair of the Investment Committee; Vice Chair of the Health Benefits Committee, the Subcommittee on Investment Policy and the Ad Hoc Board Governance; and a member of the Benefits and Program Administration and Ad Hoc Risk Management Committees. Since 1990, Diehr has been on the faculty of the College of Business Administration at California State University, San Marcos. He has written textbooks and articles for professional journals on database management and applied statistics. Previously, Diehr was a faculty member at the University of Washington's School of Business Administration. Diehr received his MBA and doctorate degree from the UCLA Graduate School of Management and his bachelor's degree from Harvey Mudd College.
