Sebastian Edwards
Henry Ford II Chair in International Management, Professor of Business Economics, The Anderson School at UCLA

Sebastian Edwards is the Henry Ford II Professor of International Business Economics at the Anderson Graduate School of Management, University of California, Los Angeles, as well as a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, Profesor Extraordinario at the IAE, Universidad Austral, Argentina and a columnist for the Wall Street Journal. He was Chief Economist for the Latin America and Caribbean Region of the World Bank for three years and co-editor of the Journal of Development Economics for almost a decade. Edwards is the author of more than 200 articles and an associate editor of Contemporary Policy Issues, the Journal of International Trade and Economic Development, the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, and Analisis Economico. He is on the Transnational Research Corporation advisory board, co-chairman of the Inter-American Seminar on Economics, President of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association and a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Kiel Institute of World Economics. His latest books among many are Preventing Currency Crises, 2002, The Economics and Political Transition to an Open Market Economy: Colombia, 2001, Capital Flows and the Emerging Economies, 2000. Edwards has been a global economic consultant to financial institutions, firms and governments. Edwards earned his Ph.D. in economics at the University of Chicago.
