Speaker's Biography:
Jeffrey Jacobs
Vice President, Biofuels & Hydrogen, Chevron Technology Ventures
Jeffrey Jacobs is Vice President of the Biofuels & Hydrogen business unit of Chevron Technology Ventures. He leads the development and commercialization of emerging energy technologies, along with infrastructure development for the production and supply of biofuels and hydrogen from renewable feedstocks. He was previously responsible for the design, sales and delivery of power quality, power reliability and distributed generation products and services for Chevron throughout the United States. Earlier in his career, Jacobs held executive positions with PG&E Corporation, PennUnion Energy Services, Power Gas Marketing & Transmission and Texaco. In these roles, he developed new markets for retail power and natural gas sales, negotiated strategic alliances, led new business ventures and directed both financial and energy operations. Jacobs serves on the boards of the National Hydrogen Association, Hydrogen & Fuels Cells Canada and the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis. He received a bachelor's degree from Amherst College, a master's degree from the University of Delaware and an M.B.A. from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
