George Skelton
Political Columnist, Los Angeles Times
George Skelton is a Political Columnist with the Los Angeles Times. He has been writing a biweekly column on California state government and politics for nearly 16 years. Skelton has been with the Times for 35 years in total, including stints as Sacramento bureau chief, White House correspondent, political editor and political writer. Before joining the Times, he was the Sacramento bureau chief for United Press International (UPI). He began his career as a UPI sportswriter in San Francisco. Skelton graduated from San Jose State University.
