Julia Boorstin
Media and Entertainment Business Correspondent, CNBC
Julia Boorstin is the Media and Entertainment Business Correspondent for CNBC, based in the network's Los Angeles bureau. She covers the TV, movie and music industries, plus newspaper and magazine publishing, advertising and social networking. She has followed the intersection of entertainment and technology, Hollywood's labor conflict and digital distribution of content. From 2000 until she joined CNBC in 2006, Boorstin was a business writer and reporter for Fortune magazine, covering everything from media companies to retail to business trends. During that time, she contributed weekly to "Street Life," a live market wrap-up segment on CNN Headline News and other CNN programs. She previously worked for the State Department's delegation to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and for Vice President Al Gore's domestic policy office. Boorstin received a bachelor's degree from Princeton University.
