Bobby Turner
Managing Partner, Canyon Capital Advisors LLC
Bobby Turner is a Managing Partner of Los Angeles-based Canyon Capital Realty Advisors LLC and Canyon Capital Advisors LLC, money management firms and registered investment advisors with more than $20 billion in assets under management. Turner also serves as the managing partner of the Canyon-Johnson Urban Funds, a series of closed-end real estate funds and joint ventures with Magic Johnson focusing on inner-city and urban real estate development. Having facilitated more than $4 billion of urban development across the country over the past eight years, the funds have emerged as the country's preeminent "value-added" capital partner for urban revitalization. Turner also serves on the advisory board for the Virginia Avenue Project, a Los Angeles-based not-for-profit organization providing after-school services for inner-city youths. Turner sits on the boards of L.A.'s Pacific Charter School Development Corporation and the national Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC), and on the Leadership Forum at Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies. Turner received a bachelor's degree in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
