Speaker's Biography:
Peter Taylor
Managing Director, Lehman Brothers
Peter Taylor is a Managing Director in the Los Angeles office of Lehman Brothers. Since joining Lehman in 1993, he has worked with several state and local governments, as well as electric and natural-gas utilities in California, Arizona and Nevada. In 2004 Taylor served as lead banker on the state′s Economic Recovery Bond issuance of $10.89 billion, the largest tax-exempt bond sale in history. Also in 2004, he was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California Performance Review Commission, charged with reviewing and recommending ways to reform the framework of state government. He was appointed by Gov. Gray Davis to the California Student Aid Commission from 2000 until 2002. Through June 2006, he served as immediate past chair of the board of directors of the UCLA Foundation and was previously president of the UCLA Alumni Association. Since December 2005, he has been a member of the J. Paul Getty Trust and a member of the board of directors of the James Irvine Foundation. Taylor received a master's degree in public policy analysis from Claremont Graduate University.
