Speaker's Biography:

Myron Scholes
1997 Nobel Laureate - Economics, Professor Emeritus, Stanford University

Myron Scholes received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 1997 for his work on developing a method to determine the value of derivatives and is now the Frank E. Buck Professor of Finance, Emeritus, at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. He previously was a professor of law as well as of finance at Stanford and was also a senior research fellow at the Hoover Institution. In addition to his seminal work on options pricing and the pricing of corporate liabilities, Scholes' research includes the effects of global tax policies on decision making. In 1992, he co-authored Taxes and Business Strategy with Stanford professor Mark Wolfson.

Scholes received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
