Alexandre Bettamio Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking Brazil, UBS AG
Alexandre Bettamio is Managing Director and Head of UBS Investment Banking in Brazil. Bettamio has led UBS to a premier position in the investment banking arena, providing equity, fixed income and M&A advice to corporate clients in the country. Since setting up UBS offices in Brazil in 1996, Bettamio raised more than $5 billion in debt and equity financing for a range corporate clients in the local and international capital markets. He also played a leading role in the privatization processes of electric utilities in the State of Sao Paulo, amounting to over $7 billion, and in tender offers of over $3 billion. As an adviser to the Republic of Brazil, Bettamio helped the country raise more than $3 billion in debt financing. Before joining UBS, Bettamio worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers for five years in San Francisco and Brazil. He then joined the investment banking division of Salomon Brothers in New York where he was the primarily responsible for the execution of several M&A transactions domestically and in Latin America. Bettamio, a member of the Brazilian BAR, earned his law degree from Universidade Mackenzie.
