J. Jorge Klor de Alva
President and CEO, Apollo International Inc.
J. Jorge Klor de Alva is President and CEO of Apollo International, a position he has held since September 2001. He has been a director of Apollo Group, Inc. since 1991. Klor de Alva was president of the University of Phoenix and senior vice president of Apollo Group, Inc. from February 1998 through August 2000. Klor de Alva was vice president of business development of Apollo Group, Inc. from 1996 to 1998 and professor at the University of California at Berkeley for two years prior to that. Klor de Alva spent five years at Princeton University as a professor and from 1984 to 1989, he was director of the Institute for Mesoamerican Studies. Before that, he was an associate professor at the State University of New York at Albany. From 1971 to 1982, Klor de Alva taught at San Jose State University and the University of California at Santa Cruz. Klor de Alva earned his J.D. at the University of California at Berkeley and his Ph.D. at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
