Speaker's Biography:
Alvin Toffler
Author, Futurist
Alvin Toffler, futurist, is principal of Toffler & Associates, a consulting company, and author of more than one dozen books, including the bestsellers Future Shock and Third Wave. Toffler was a visiting scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation, visiting professor at Cornell University, faculty member of the New School for Social Research, a White House correspondent, an editor of Fortune magazine and a business consultant. He is the recipient of several prestigious prizes and appointments, including Fellow for the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the International Institute for Strategic Studies. Toffler is highly regarded throughout the world by business and political leaders, many of whom consider him a visionary and master of future blueprints. Toffler wrote about the proliferation of computers, the advent of cable television, niche markets, the shift to work-at-home, corporate restructuring, the break-up of the Soviet Union, the shift to a global economy and dozens of other scenarios long before they appeared in our nomenclature.
