Speaker's Biography:
Ash Vasudevan
Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, CommerceNet
Ash Vasudevan is Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for CommerceNet Consortium Inc., overseeing its Adaptive Business Network program and heading its $28 million Next Generation Internet-entrepreneurs grant program for the State of California. Vasudevan and his team made 16 investments and established two test beds at the University of California, Berkeley and U.C. San Diego Supercomputing Center. He also headed CommerceNet′s early stage investment and incubation arm, instrumental in shaping its investment philosophy and strategy. He was professor of Strategy and International Business at Washington State University, director of Strategic Business Development and Alliance Practice for Alliance Management International and founding partner of the International Center for Alliances, Networks and Strategic Innovation. He authored Alliance Enterprise: Global Strategies for Corporate Collaboration and was recently elected scientific advisory board member for the USC Integrated Media Systems Center. He serves on the University of Maryland′s Smith School of Business and Center for eServices board, and many e-commerce firm boards as well. An Entrepreneurial Fellow at ConceptLabs, Vasudevan earned his Ph.D. in International Business and Strategic Management at the Temple University Fox School of Business.
