Speaker's Biography:
Gary Wilson
Chairman, Northwest Airlines
Gary Wilson is Chairman of the Board and a principal investor of NWA Inc., parent of Northwest Airlines. Wilson served as co-chairman since 1991 and was named chairman of Northwest Airlines in April 1997. He is also a director of The Walt Disney Company. He joined Disney in 1985 and served as executive vice president and chief financial officer until 1990. Before joining Disney, Wilson served for 11 years in executive positions at Marriott Corp., including executive vice president and chief financial officer responsible for strategic planning, financial management and corporate development and operating responsibility for Marriott's In-Flight Catering Division. Earlier, he was executive vice president and a director of Trans-Philippines Investment Corp., a Manila-based industrial complex with holdings in sugar, mining and heavy construction. Wilson serves on the board of trustees at Duke University, the board of overseers of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Keck School of Medicine at The University of Southern California. He is a member of the board of the NCAA Leadership Advisory Board, a director of Yahoo! Inc, and a member of the Supervisory Board of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Wilson earned his MBA at the Wharton Graduate School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania.
