Jim Bankoff
Executive Vice President, AOL Programming & Products
Jim Bankoff is Executive Vice President of AOL Programming & Products, leading the team responsible for the consumer experience and producing product features, programming and content used across AOL, Inc. media properties. These include the AOL service as well as the company’s Web-based properties AOL.com, Netscape, MapQuest, Moviefone, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) and ICQ. Bankoff manages content and product offerings across a variety of diverse categories including music, movies, games, news, TV, local, personal finance, kids, teens, AOL BlackVoices, AOL Latino, lifestyle and community. He has created, developed and launched hundreds of advertising and subscription-supported services, features and content franchises to AOL’s audience of more than 100 million consumers. Previously, Bankoff served as President of AOL Web Properties responsible for AOL's network of Internet brands including Netscape, CompuServe, Moviefone, MapQuest, ICQ and AIM services. Additionally, he coordinated the integration of online properties across Time Warner. Before that, Bankoff was president of Netscape where he grew the profitability and audience of Netscape.com to one of the most-visited sites on the Internet. Prior to managing Netscape, Bankoff was vice president of Strategy and Operations for the AOL brand. He managed business development for the AOL Interactive Services Group, started the AOL Music and Broadband programming groups, was a director in AOL’s Electronic Commerce Business Development Group and a director of Business Development for the AOL Greenhouse, an Internet content company incubator. Prior to working at AOL, Bankoff held positions with Ruder Finn’s Global Public Affairs group and CNN. Bankoff earned his MBA at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
