Debra Eschmeyer

Executive Director, Let's Move! and Senior Policy Advisor for Nutrition, The White House


Debra Eschmeyer is executive director of Let's Move!, First Lady Michelle Obama's campaign to help America raise a healthier generation of children. Eschmeyer is also senior policy advisor for nutrition policy to President Obama. Let's Move! helps families gain access to nutritious, affordable food and supports young people as they become more physically active. Previously, Eschmeyer was a co-founder and vice president of external affairs at FoodCorps, an AmeriCorps service program that places emerging leaders in schools in limited-resource communities for a year of public service. Earlier, she served as a W.K. Kellogg food and community fellow and was communications and outreach director of the National Farm to School Network. Fortune and Food & Wine recently named Eschmeyer one of the Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink. She is a recipient of the James Beard Foundation Leadership Award and the Xavier University Magis Award in recognition of her efforts to reform school food and her commitment to public service.
