About the Summit
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is rich in human capital and poised to assume greater influence in today’s global economy. The MENA region is known not only as the driving force in global energy markets, but also for its more recent advances in technology, education, health care, and capital markets.
While continuing its progress in social, political, and economic reforms, how will the region execute strategic investments that support its vision for sustainable growth?
The inaugural Milken Institute MENA Summit will bring together a curated group of high-profile senior executives, influential investors, government officials, sovereign wealth fund directors, and philanthropists to discuss, confront, and create solutions to the region’s most pressing issues. The program will encourage action-oriented conversations with global thought leaders who have a deep understanding of the region or the sectors of focus.
Global Overview: Priorities in a Changing World
Disruption—whether in technology, markets, economies or politics—is a hallmark of the modern age. These accelerating upheavals call into stark relief the goal of strengthened security, regionally and globally. What can be done to improve security—from public safety to the provision of food, water, and energy? How can the promise of medical breakthroughs and the digital revolution further investments in technology and innovation? How should human capital—the workforce—best be deployed to maximize opportunity and prosperity? Our opening plenary convenes a variety of experts to discuss solutions to these great, shared challenges.
