Head of Global Education Services, Credit Suisse
Sam Shah heads the global education services practice at Credit Suisse, one of the world's leading global investment banks. Credit Suisse is Wall Street's first investment bank to serve the global education sector in a dedicated fashion. For more than two decades, Credit Suisse has been a leading advisor and underwriter for the world's largest for-profit education companies. Shah oversees a practice with dedicated coverage officers in each key education market around the globe, including Brazil, China and India. Most recently, he was the lead industry banker for transactions such as the recapitalization of Meritas LLC, the initial public offering of TAL Education Group and the sale of Study Group to Providence Equity Partners, the largest-ever education M&A transaction in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to Credit Suisse, Shah was with Banc of America Securities, Wachovia Securities, KeyBanc Capital Markets and Goldman Sachs. Prior to his career on Wall Street, Shah founded Prophecy Inc., a provider of supplementary e-learning content for middle and elementary schools. He graduated from Tufts University with a degree in electrical and biomedical engineering.
