Managing Director, Credit Suisse
Alastair Blackman is managing director and head of media investment banking for Credit Suisse in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has been closely involved in the development of Credit Suisse′s media franchise since joining the firm in 2005 from Deutsche Bank. Blackman is responsible for overall coverage of the media sector, including broadcasting, content, directories, newspapers, consumer magazines, digital media, professional publishing, direct-to-home TV and radio. He has completed a number of significant transactions, including the acquisition of Bureau van Dijk by Charterhouse, the merger of Showtime Arabia and Orbit Communications Company, and the acquisition of Warner Music Group by Access Industries. He has also played an important role in developing the U.K. corporate broking franchise in media with engagements from ITV, United Business Media, and Daily Mail and General Trust. He is a graduate of the University of Bristol.
