Sir Martin Sorrell

CEO, WPP


Sir Martin Sorrell is CEO of WPP, the world′s largest advertising and marketing services group, which he founded in 1985. WPP employs more than 153,000 people (including associates) in 2,400 offices in 107 countries. Clients include 354 of the Fortune Global 500. Sorrell, who advises several international business schools, is the recipient of the Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award, among many other honors, and received a knighthood in 2000. He sits on the Executive Committee of the World Economic Forum International Business Council, the Business Council in the U.S. and the International Business Leaders Advisory Council as vice chairman. A non-executive director of Sorrell Capital, he is a member of the Advisory Board of Stanhope Capital. Previously he was a nonexecutive director of Alpha Topco, the Formula 1 company, and a board member for The English Football Association′s bid to stage the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He is currently a trustee of the British Museum and a board member of the Bloomberg Family Foundation.
