2011 Milken Institute Summit
Chief Strategy Officer, Milken Institute
Jared Carney, the Milken Institute's chief strategy officer, is responsible for its programs and partnerships. He oversees relationships with the Institute's major constituents — innovative international leaders in finance, business, government, education and philanthropy — to further the Institute's goals of job creation and access to capital. One of his primary responsibilities is the Global Conference. He leads the Milken Institute Global Capital Markets Advisory Council, a group of investors with USD$12 trillion in assets under management who share ideas about investment issues and policy trends. Previously, Carney worked in the high-tech and media industries, including co-starting Intranets.com (an Idealab company that sold to WebEx) and Internet initiatives at News Corp. He serves on several boards, mostly focused in the field of education, including Children's Creative Learning Centers — the leading provider of child-care solutions for progressive employers — and The Growing Place preschool in Santa Monica, Calif.
