Former Mayor of Chicago and Of Counsel, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP
Richard Daley, the former mayor of Chicago, is Of Counsel to Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and a distinguished senior fellow at the University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy Studies. Chicago's longest-serving mayor, he spent 22 years in office. Daley improved public schools and infrastructure, strengthened the economy, reduced crime, improved transportation, and made Chicago one of America's most environmentally friendly cities. Daley attracted cutting-edge businesses that have turned Chicago into a prominent player in the global economy. He was a pioneer of public-private partnership models, including the privatization of the Chicago Skyway, which allowed the city to improve its infrastructure and preserve social programs while other cities were forced to make concessions. Daley continues to speak internationally on the issue of sustainable urban development and to work with global leaders on building the cities of tomorrow.
