Manuel Abud
Vice President and General Manager, Telemundo Los Angeles

Manuel Abud is Vice President and General Manager of Telemundo Los Angeles, KVEA TV — Channel 52. He is responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of the station. Prior to KVEA, he was president of Telemundo Cable, a group of cable networks made up of Telemundo Internacional, the news and entertainment channel broadcast to Latin America, the U.S. and Canada, and mun2, the only Spanish-language general entertainment television network committed to young U.S. Hispanics and the distributor of the Mexico-based music video channel Videorola. He was president of CBS Telenoticias from 1999 to March 2000, and then successfully re-launched the network as Telemundo Internacional, changing it from an all-news to a news and entertainment format, reaching more than 6 million subscribers. He was also chief financial officer of Grupo Medcom, an industry leader in radio, television and printed media with more than 50 corporations under its control, and oversaw the operation of a television station in Guadalajara. Abud received a master′s degree in business administration from Houston Baptist University in Texas and a bachelor′s degree in finance and business administration from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
