Chairman and CEO, Pacific Century Group
Richard Li is chairman and CEO of Pacific Century Group (PCG), an Asia-based long-term private investment group with interests in financial services, technology, media, telecommunications and real estate. PCG acquired ING Group N.V.'s Hong Kong, Macau and Thailand insurance business, now named FWD. Earlier PCG acquired the asset management business, now PineBridge Investments, of American International Group, Inc. Li launched the world's first major IPTV service, called Now TV, which today accounts for a fifth of IPTV subscribers worldwide. He also created Cyberport, raising awareness of technology's role in Hong Kong's economy. His interest in creative information and home entertainment services led to STAR TV, Asia's first satellite-delivered, cable TV service, which Li sold to News Corp. Li was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia. He is a member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies' International Councillors Group in Washington, D.C.
