Ashok Kumar Mirpuri

Ambassador to the United States, Singapore

Ashok Kumar Mirpuri is Singapore's ambassador to the United States. Prior to this appointment, Mirpuri served as Singapore's ambassador to Indonesia, high commissioner to Malaysia and high commissioner to Australia. He previously served as director of policy planning and analysis (Southeast Asia) for the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was detailed to Shell International in the United Kingdom as corporate advisor (Asia-Pacific) to Shell's committee of managing directors. A career diplomat, Mirpuri joined the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs after he graduated from the National University of Singapore. He subsequently earned an M.A. at the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies, and also attended the program for executive development at the Institute for Management Development, Switzerland, and the advanced management program at Harvard Business School.
