Jared Bernstein is an economic policy fellow at the Milken Institute and senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Previously, he was chief economist and economic advisor to Vice President Joe Biden, executive director of the White House Task Force on the Middle Class and a member of President Obama's economic team. His expertise includes economic and fiscal policy, income inequality and mobility, employment and earnings trends, and financial and housing markets. Earlier, Bernstein was senior economist and director of the Living Standards Program at the Economic Policy Institute and deputy chief economist at the U.S. Department of Labor. He has written several books and has been published in numerous media outlets. He is also a commentator for CNBC and MSNBC, a contributor to the New York Times Upshot blog and the Washington Post's PostEverything blog, and host of jaredbernsteinblog.com. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
