A fourth generation San Franciscan with impeccable credentials in the world of marketing, television, film and politics, Larry Baer has gained a national reputation as one of professional sports' leading visionaries. Baer is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the Giants organization, both on the business and baseball sides of the operation. He was named team president on October 1, 2008 and president and chief executive officer on January 1, 2012. As president and CEO, Baer serves as the club's control person on all Giants, Major League Baseball and industry issues. Baer is a member of the boards of directors of BamTech, KQED, Bay Area Council, San Francisco Committee on Jobs, NBC SportsNet Bay Area and is a member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America Pacific Region Board of Trustees. He also serves on the board of directors of Major League Baseball’s Advanced Media Committee and is the Chairman of MLB’s Long-Range Strategic Planning Committee.
