As managing director of Corporate Responsibility for the Western United States, Kari helps direct and coordinate the firm's philanthropic, public policy and corporate responsibility initiatives across communities in the west. Before joining JPMorgan Chase in 2010, Kari served as managing director of APX Environmental Markets, a global provider of market infrastructure for the global carbon and renewable energy markets. She has served as director of policy and senior advisor to California Governor Gray Davis, helping lead numerous initiatives relating to California's economy, technology, infrastructure, trade, education and energy. Prior to her return to the west, Kari spent over a decade in Washington, DC, and was a senior appointee of President Clinton, serving as deputy assistant secretary for policy and planning in the Office of the US Secretary of Commerce, as well as senior policy adviser to two other US Secretaries of Commerce. A former senior staffer in the US Senate, Kari was also Trade Counsel to US Senator Max Baucus.
